BreakIn covers a range of in-demand tech paths including Software Engineering (Frontend, Backend, Full Stack), DevOps & Cloud, Data Engineering, Data Science, Cybersecurity, Product Management, and UX Design. The AI mentor and roadmap are tailored to whichever role you choose during onboarding.

The AI Mentor knows your profile — your background, target role, experience level, and resume. It answers specific questions, gives feedback on your approach, helps with interview prep, and keeps you on track. It works best when you treat it like a knowledgeable advisor: ask specific questions and use its answers as a starting point, not gospel. It's a tool, not a magic wand — the results you get will reflect the effort you put in.

After you complete your profile (background, target role, experience level, timeline), the AI generates a step-by-step learning plan built specifically for your situation. It breaks down exactly what to learn, in what order, and links to resources for each step. You can check off milestones as you complete them to track your progress.

The Resume Builder will let you create ATS-optimized, role-specific resumes directly inside BreakIn — no design experience needed. Pro users will also get AI-powered line-by-line review and rewrite suggestions. It's currently in development and coming soon. In the meantime, the AI Mentor can review and give feedback on your existing resume.

It's a searchable, filterable database of tech apprenticeship programs. You can filter by role, location, and experience level to find programs that match your situation. Pro users get smart matching — the AI automatically cross-references your profile and surfaces your best-fit opportunities so you spend less time searching.

They complement each other but are not the same. The AI Mentor is available 24/7 and is great for ongoing questions, quick feedback, and staying on track day to day. 1-on-1 coaching with your career coach is for when you need human judgment, lived experience, and real-time conversation — especially for high-stakes moments like interview prep, offer negotiation, or figuring out a major career decision.

No — and we won't pretend otherwise. BreakIn gives you the structure, tools, and guidance to show up as prepared as possible, but hiring outcomes depend on factors we can't control: the job market, your specific skills at the time of applying, the roles you target, and how you interview. What we can do is maximize your readiness and minimize wasted time. The work is yours to do.

It depends on your starting point, how much time you can dedicate each week, and the role you're targeting. Realistically, entry-level roles take anywhere from 6 months to 2+ years of focused learning and building. BreakIn helps you move faster by keeping you focused on the right things — but there are no shortcuts to actually learning the skills hiring managers look for.

The AI Mentor is powered by a large language model and trained on your profile data. It's designed to give relevant, personalized advice — but like all AI, it can occasionally be wrong or out of date. Use it as a knowledgeable guide, not a definitive source. For anything high-stakes (salary negotiation, legal questions, specific employer processes), verify with additional sources or book a session with a real coach.

Free gives you the Career Path Explorer, Learning Resources library, and Apprenticeship Finder — enough to explore the platform and get oriented. Pro ($15/month) unlocks the AI Career Mentor, your personalized learning roadmap with progress tracking, and the Resume Builder with AI-powered review.

Yes. There are no contracts or commitments. You can cancel your Pro subscription at any time from your account settings. You'll keep access until the end of your current billing period.

Yes. Your data is stored on Supabase infrastructure (built on AWS), encrypted in transit and at rest, and protected by row-level security — meaning only you can access your own data. We don't sell your information or use it for advertising. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
